Do We Lack Impartial Media?

In this article for Liberty Unbound, I ask whether the real problem is a lack of impartial media—or something deeper in the audience itself.

I discuss why false stories spread so easily, why people often seek information that confirms what they already believe, and why big media and big government are not the root causes of social confusion. They are symptoms. The deeper problem is that many people do not seek truth; they seek rationalizations for their existing emotions, prejudices, and worldviews.
