India and BRICS
Why was Modi among the first foreign dignitaries to visit Trump after his inauguration? Was it because India held strategic importance for Trump, or did he expect Modi to grovel? How reliable is India within BRICS? The following is a discussion with David Oualaalou:
In the following discussion, Pratham Padav and I talk about the H1B visa, Trump’s prospects for success, whether the U.S. should take over Gaza, why Indians struggle to assimilate in the West, the lack of a real solution to the immigration crisis, why Trudeau’s successor might make me nostalgic for him, and why India is doomed:
On Investments
My clients and I have been long-term investors in Irving Resources (IRV; $0.26), which has two unique projects in Japan—a country I admire. One of these projects, Omui in Hokkaido, is under an option agreement with JX Mining, Japan’s largest mining company. The designated areas within this agreement are progressing toward becoming mines, primarily for silica with gold credits. IRV is set to release the results of a recently drilled hole there. From IRV’s perspective, the current drilling aims to increase the gold grade of the material destined for smelters—though JX Mining likely has little interest in the gold itself. High-grade silica from Omui is expected to be in strong demand in Japan.
Another IRV project, Yamagano, is a joint venture with Newmont and Sumitomo. They are currently drilling their fourth 700-meter hole. While Yamagano was historically a mine, it has never undergone modern exploration, despite being just 10 km from the Hishikari gold mine—one of the highest-grade gold mines in the world.
The following is a talk given earlier this month in Toronto by Dr. Quinton Hennigh:
IRV has stagnated for several months while similar companies have moved up. I prefer to invest when others aren’t paying attention.
