Belief, Fear, and Americanism

In this essay for The Dollar Vigilante, I examine “Americanism” as a modern belief system—dogmatic, ideological, and increasingly destructive of the very qualities that once made America exceptional.

My argument is not a defense of religion, Islam, Hinduism, or any other belief system. It is a warning against hysteria, foreign intervention, and the refusal to examine causality. When public schooling, media propaganda, and nationalist emotion replace reason, people begin to rationalize the very coercion they claim to oppose.
