Over the last year, many junior companies have instituted diversity quotas, and have hired women and people of color in top-level management positions. At the recently held Mining Investment Asia conference in Singapore, I talked about why the emphasis on diversity is demeaning and destructive to women and minorities. I wonder if those who talk so much about diversity desperately try to hide their bigotry. Here is the talk:

On Investments

Salazar Resources (SRL; C$0.27) has done quite well over the last few years. Their 25%-owned Curipamba project in Ecuador is on its way to production. Their partner, Adventus Mining, is run by very competent people. I still see a significant upside in SRL as I explain in the linked talk with Cory Fleck and Shad Marquitz.

Other matters

I recently came across a website managed by independent journalists with an Austrian perspective living in China. Cancel-culture is also one of their topics. Recently they issued several reports on the situation in Shanghai. My friends who know China well and I have found their articles very well-balanced and incisive. Linked is an article that I particularly liked from their website. You can subscribe to their updates using the subscribe button at the top of their website.

Finally, the next Capitalism & Morality seminar will be held on 20th August 2022.
