India’s “Structure”—Addendum

In this addendum to my essay on India’s “structure,” I examine why India’s institutional failures cannot be understood merely as problems of policy, poverty, or governance.

The deeper issue is civilizational: a lack of trust, work ethic, rationality, integrity, and moral foundations. Without these qualities, imported institutions, infrastructure projects, laws, education, and markets are hollowed out from within and gradually collapse into corruption, evasion, and chaos.
