Ms Muscles vs Miss Curves

I wrote an article titled “Ms Muscles vs Miss Curves,” published in The Statesman on 29 December 2000.

In this article, I contrast the public adulation given to beauty-pageant winners with the relative neglect of Karnam Malleswari, whose Olympic medal represented years of discipline and genuine achievement. I argue that beauty contests should be treated honestly as entertainment rather than presented as evidence of intelligence, social commitment, or personal worth.
