No Cheers for Democracy
Defiance Silver, etc.
Contrary to popular belief, democracy has been an unmitigated disaster. It is a fanatic religion. It has been a disaster in the Third World, all of which is getting rapidly degraded, socially and politically. In the developed world, democracy is increasingly reflecting the character of the masses in its leaders: Greta Thunberg, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Justin Trudeau, Jeremy Corbyn, etc. With each gyration of the democratic cycle, everywhere we are getting more and more populist governments.
Canada is soon going to be electing its next government. So much has been the degradation that today even the Conservative Party of Canada is a leftist party. But what else can you expect when the masses want bread and circuses, and free-stuff? There is only one hope for Canada, and that is Maxime Bernier’s People Party of Canada. I would certainly go out to vote for them, even though I know that their chances of winning are rather slim.
I explore the subject of democracy in more detail in the linked article.
If you understand Hindi, here is my first ever discussion in Hindi on the politics of India, with my dear friend, Dr Madhusudan Raj:
Here are some companies that have fallen a lot recently and, in my view, offer a good upside:
- Defiance Silver (DEF; C$0.225): They have two interesting projects. Just be aware that their last financing is coming free-trading in December.
- Eastmain Resources (ER; C$0.105): They are currently raising money. Those crazy for warrants are selling their shares in the hope of participating in the financing.
- Miramont Resources (MONT; C$0.095): MONT has about C$0.07 in cash. It has good management and properties in Peru.
- Amarillo Gold (AGC; C$0.20): Their last financing has recently come free-trading, so you should expect a weakness. While the market has mostly ignored the company, AGC is expecting to have a feasibility report on its Mara Rosa project ready by January 2020.
