I discuss why the ruins of Greece and Rome cannot conceal the cultural decay that now defines much of southern Europe. Debt, bureaucracy, unemployment, poor service, victimhood, tribalism, and social disorder are symptoms of a deeper problem: the loss of reason, responsibility, and the habits that sustain civilization.
