In this article for Liberty Unbound, I write about Ron Paul, libertarianism, and the danger of trying to spread liberty through politics.
I argue that Ron Paul made libertarianism far more visible, but that the political process also corrupted the movement by replacing principle with activism, numbers, compromise, and ideological dilution. Liberty cannot be created from the top down. It requires self-reflection, reason, character, and a principled understanding of freedom.
