In this essay for Liberty Unbound, I examine the fear that Islam is seeking to bring the world under its domination.

My argument is that Islamic societies have deep problems, but hysteria in the West often destroys perspective, weakens critical examination, and creates the intellectual climate wanted by the military-industrial complex. The greater danger is not merely fanaticism abroad, but the loss of reason within the West itself.
