I was published in the January–February 2009 issue of Liberty Magazine with a piece titled “Moon Hunger.”
In the piece, I discuss the contrast between India’s technological ambitions and the deeper poverty, hunger, superstition, bureaucracy, and institutional weakness that continued to define everyday life for much of the country.
The title captures the contradiction: a country celebrated for reaching toward the moon while large parts of its population remained trapped in deprivation, poor infrastructure, and social dysfunction.
The piece appeared on pages 69–70 of the January–February 2009 print issue.
