In the article, I discuss the film Slumdog Millionaire and why its depiction of violence, stress, poverty, and social chaos resonated with my own experience of life in India.
The film is often discussed as entertainment or a story of improbable success, but I use it to examine something deeper: the everyday aggression, insecurity, corruption, fatalism, and social disorder that shape Indian life beneath the surface.
