In this travel account, I recount a journey through the forests of Gupteswar and into Mudlipuda, a remote Bonda tribal village. Along the way, I get lost in the forest, encounter the uncertainties of travelling through rural India, and observe a community that had largely resisted government efforts to “civilise” it.
