I was published in the March 2008 issue of Liberty Magazine with a reflection titled “Honor Among Thieves?”
In the piece, I discuss the strange moral logic that appears when criminals, politicians, and public figures bargain with one another while still pretending that some code of honor exists among them.
The reflection uses the phrase “honor among thieves” to point to a deeper contradiction: once moral standards collapse, loyalty itself becomes conditional, transactional, and unstable.
The piece appeared in the Reflections section on page 12 of the March 2008 print issue.
