I wrote an article titled “Do We Still Need Reservation?,” published in The Pioneer on 9 August 2002.

In this article, I argue that attempting to reverse historical inequality by instituting a new system of unequal treatment does not achieve equality. Drawing on my experiences at university and my observations of education, government employment, and politics, I examine how caste-based reservation deepens social divisions and encourages the state to classify people by inherited identity rather than treat them as individuals.
